Musician’s Eye Chart

eye chart

While visiting my doctor today, I noticed the eye chart hanging on his wall and decided to modify it for our use.

I hope you  all can read it and for all you jazzers out there, just add a lowered 5th and raised 9th and you will be fine.

Bruce was a member of the faculty at the University of Northern Iowa, School of Music in Cedar Falls from 1969 until his retirement in 1999. He has performed with many well-known entertainers such as Bob Hope, Jim Nabors, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Anita Bryant, Carman Cavalara, Victor Borgie, the Four Freshman, Blackstone the Magician, Bobby Vinton and John Davidson.

Bruce, I was checking you blog again as I enjoy reading the many things you discuss. I watched your video on cleaning the trumpet. Very nice and great for u\young players. Not sure its taught often anymore. But I was rather surprised you did not rinse the inside of the trumpet or slides with water to remove soap residue. I do and recommend it.
Thanks for a fine trumpet blog. Very well done.

Oops! I also do it but you might be correct that I didn’t do it on the video. I’ll watch it myself.

Hey! I want a copy of the eye chart. Will you publish it on the sheet music site?
