Inspiration or Complete Humiliation?

Each day I practice my Clarke Technical Studies and slur up and down on my Advanced Lip Flexibilities exercises. Every day I play my long tones and range exercises.

Then…

I view a video of the “Good Guys” and I throw up my hands in despair.

Yes, in the morning, I will be doing the same practice routine as I have for many, many years; knowing that it can be done even though I will never be able to do it as these “MONSTERS” illustrate.

Feel free to leave comments for some will like this, some will not. But all will have opinions and I would like to hear yours.

I say inspiration! Though my limits kept me from being able to play up in the stratosphere, i have the utmost respect and admiration for those who can, and in many aspects of my life i look to those better (more experienced) at something than me to push me to grow. Thanks for sharing the link! Love these guys and many others.

      I agree.

When I was growing up as a very young boy in Moline, Illinois, I remember going to the local movie theater to see the latest Roy Rogers films. At that time in my life he was one of the most respected male figures available to us. Later in my playing career, I shared a dressing room and perform on the stage with Mr. Rogers and I shared my early memories with him and Dale. Mr. Rogers was an inspiration to everyone. His Son”Dusty” and his grandson live and perform in Branson and I have also been lucky enough to visit with them about Roy’s influence during my formative years.

Everyone needs a figure to look up to whether it be in music, politics, or life style. I wish we had more Roy Rogers around

Thanks for comments and the very best to you and yours.
